Hi, I just bought a chromatic accordion, model Accordina VII (from the Swiss factory established during WWII as it turns out). I would like to know the year of making, knowing the serial number: 107202. Thanx
Iāll enquire with Accordion Service. They offer to certify accordions through the service below:
For a flat fee of EUR 40.00 we will conduct an archive search to determine the age of your accordion. To do so, we will need the model designation or a photo of the instrument, plus the 5- or 6-digit serial number.
This will enable us to find the date of delivery from the factory. Please note that for models produced between 1930 and 1987 you will receive both delivery date and shipping location. For models produced after 1987, we can only provide the month of production.
This information will be sent to you in the form of a certificate. If you are interested, please pay the fee of EUR 40.00 to one of the bank accounts below, and send your full postal address and email to RTritschler@hohner.de As soon as we receive the fee, we will select the data and send the certificate by post and e-mail to the address given in the following days.

OK, Iāll come back when Iām rich and famous ![]()
May this day come soon ![]()
The Service Department tells me that the Accordina company in Switzerland had its own system of serial numbering, which is not archived at the main factory in Germany, so they canāt issue a certificate or calculate the production date for accordions built there. Sorry about that!
Too bad! And I suppose the Accordina company doesnāt exist anymore, and thereās no record of their production⦠Iāll try to investigate, who knowsā¦
I wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately Hohnerās record keeping was never that great and documentation is often incomplete at best. However, there appears to be a Swiss accordion museum, which may well have more information about this instrument than they do in Trossingen:
Been there before buying⦠Thatās how I knew the Swiss factory stuff. Fun fact: the instrument was called āCordina VIIā in the description ācause the first A is missing! XD so I have to thank that site for the discount I got⦠Will try to e-mail them as well.
