I’m not a pro musician but have played a lot at my teen years and stopped due to University (Engineering). Now almost at 50 I’m back mainly to chromatic. I took 2 years of music study at a public music school in Rio de Janeiro than 1,5 years in Classical guitar with a great professional, Marco de Carvalho ( Currently living at US) but never got any degree on Music. Due to my profession, I quite involved with computers and softwares so I’m always making something related to it. Right Now I’m taking class in a pilot project to become an Harp Luthier. As I live in Brazil I had good relationships with Hering (Now Hering SHG) and I’m very fond of their instruments. When SHG took over Hering they improved some tools, and they are making very good harps with an accessible price, even to us here in Brazil. Unfortunately, due to tax and exchange rates, foreigner instruments (Hohner included) become quite expansive for us here. So SHG is of a great value to us, but as this is a Hohner site and every good harp player has at least one Hohner in his belt, it’s always good to know what is happening out there!
