I’ve noticed a few florally printed Hohner harps from way back. Anyone know anything about them?
Hi David
Hohner has a lengthy tradition of making decorative harmonicas, primarily intended as gift articles. However, I don’t recall seeing florally printed instruments. Do you have a photo?
Cheers
Steve
This one is currently on ebay uk but I’ve seen them around before on different shapes. I think they’re predominantly on the “Echo” varieties.
As one of my hobbies is restoration, I wondered whether they were painted or inked and what kind of paint or ink was used. I’d assume that it was non-toxic but, given the age of some items, I’d not be too sure.
Yeah, from the form I’d say that’s an Unsere Lieblinge (octave tuned Knittlinger system) that’s been painted (or maybe enamelled?) in the factory. I’ll pass your enquiry on to harmonica product management and see if they can cast any light on the subject.
