I bought it second-hand in Germany. Manufactured by Robert Barth Musik Instrumente Fabrik in Stuttgart, Germany.
Your accordion is a Hohner Model No.181/10/4, made in the Hohner factory at Trossingen in the mid-1930s.
“Robert Barth Musik Instrumente Fabrik” in Stuttgart was a music shop that traded from 1878 until 1995.
Once again thank you Stephen. It’s great that we have people on this forum who are so knowledgeable!
Cheers, Steve
Accordion Service says this is a single row Wiener diatonic accordion No. 181/10/4, built between the 1920s and 1940s. As they have no serial number, it’s not possible to date them more accurately. Hope that helps!
Steve
Here a scan of the relevant catalogue page, this accordion apparently went for 19.50 Reichsmarks back then…
Thank you so much! I believe this will be of great help when I find someone who can help do some maintenance and restoration.
