hi folks.
Ive had this guitar for quite a few years.
It’s lovely looking guitar, but ive never really bonded with it.
What I loved about it also is how it’s basically a telecaster but a different shape and style.
It’s been gathering dust on a rack for
years now and id really just like to sell it.
I can find pics the (Caribbean?) Pearl guitars in 3 colours only, but none in this colour.
It doesn’t seem to be listed at all in green version.
Ive hunted on Reverb and the internet generally to no avail.
can anyone give me a clue as to what model it actually is and what kind of price id perhaps realistically get for it?
im in Scotland. thanks in advance for any help!!!
Hi Jimmy
Cool looking instrument! Can you provide a serial number? It’s difficult to find out any info otherwise, as Hohner no longer sells guitars and current staff isn’t familiar with older products like this one,
cheers
Steve
hi Steve;-)
Thank you for the reply.
There doesn’t seem to be one mate.
Just that one wee sticker on the back of the headstock, that im amazed has stayed on for so many years;-(
The original Caribbean Pearl was introduced in 1998 and was basically a Hohner Blonde with pearloid on the top and headstock. Like the Blonde it had humbuckers, master volume/tone and a blade pickup selector. It was available in Island Blue, Oyster Black and Berry Red. At some point (2001-2002?), a cream version was introduced which had Tele pickups and bridge, pearloid top but no pearloid on the headstock. Yours is a green version of that. It’s certainly unusual. Even the cream ones had “Pearl” on the truss rod cover, does yours?
