Hi Paulc,
I too have a Chrometta 14 and am very happy with it. It is an economical introduction to the 14-hole chromatic, which is an excellent extension to the 12-hole instrument. Having the lower G, A, and B available really opens up the low octave from 1 Blow on the 12 holer and gives the fifth, sixth, and seventh from the lower octave (Blow 3) so that leading tone and sixth are available. Their absence often forces playing up an octave on a 12-holer. I will admit the mouthpiece is a challenge to me, but the tone is very warm and sweet.
