Chromonica repair gone bad?

i am currently in the process og changing plastic comb on my old chromonika 280 from the 70s and here the reedplates was nailed to the old faux wood plastic comb. so i ordered a new black comb from hohnershop and new reedplate screws, and what i thought where nuts for those screws, but these nuts does not fit the 1.6mm reedplate screws, and i have made all the holes 1.7mm all the way through fo fit the screws supplied from hohner. is it possible to get nuts for these screws? or have i just ruined my harmonica?

Hi Thormjen,

I’m not a chromatic expert but will ask the Service Dept. and let you know what they say

Steve

Hohner’s reed plate screws are self-tapping, so unfortunately there are no nuts to fit them as these are not required. I guess you could look for suitable nuts online, but Hohner doesn’t have any. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I asked cshop. And they reccomended other bolts and starnuts from the shop…

That would seem to be the most viable solution. Good luck!
