Can you tell me what year my Hohner electric guitar was manufactured? It has a open book headstock with split diamond design much like the Les Paul black beauty custom. I am guessing it is a early to mid-1970s guitar.
This guitar was most likely made in Japan in the mid to late 70s. The serial number unfortunately, was a small sticker on the back of the headstock. It’s a six digit number with the last two numbers indicating the year it was manufactured.
Mine in particular was from 1978. Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.
A 1978 model would have a ‘four diamond’ headstock inlay rather than the LPC split diamond. This is likely 1974/1975.
