Harmonica Reedplate feature

New Special 20 in the key of Bb here. It seems to me that Hohner started stamping the reedplates differently, i can see the light lines near the sides of the reed slots. Looks like the embossing but this is not it. What is the purpuse of that development and what actually this is?

Product Management says that the process of die stamping the reed slots has not changed in recent years. I can see what you’re referring to and assume it’s a result of the way the plates are stamped in order to eliminate burring through punch in and punch out and ensure a cylindrical slot. But this process was introduced around 2005 and has not changed subsequently.
