I haven’t been able to locate a table of serial number to manufacture date for my HG-920. Serial number is 707056. I inherited it after my father-in-law died and I know he had no information about it. Anything you have would be greatly appreciated.

All the 900 series serial numbers I’ve seen have been five digits. Where are you getting that number from? If it’s on the neck block then it’s not a serial number. The serial number on a 920 is usually stamped on one of the braces visible through the soundhole.

The 900 series was introduced in 1979 and all the serial numbers I’ve seen have started 9, 0 or 1. So I’ll take a wild stab and say yours was made in 1980 in Japan.
Hohner Service can only say it was built between 1978 and 1985 in Japan, so Phil’s estimate could very well be right.
