I just bought one of these amazing guitars again and wondered how to date it? There’s no serial number on the head, but there is C100178 stamped into the plastic pot cover on the back.
The Hohner L59 model was first manufactured in 1985 and was still in production in the mid - late 1990s. Hohner Service is currently on holiday, but I can enquire when yours was made when they’re back in a week or so.
