Hello. If anyone can give me any information about this guitar
i would be grateful. Thanks for looking.
Played it for a couple of hours. It’s a beautiful guitar. The best guitar i’ve ever owned. Solid and heavy, perfect inntonation and stays in tune. Not jacked
it in yet bit it sounds great and feels nice to play.
After hours of research i am begining to wonder if this guitar even exists.
Like a mythical beast it might and then might not
But ive learned quite
a bit about hohner and hohner electric guitars.
A bit more information about the guitar. Overall lenth 1040mm 40 3/4 inch.
nut to 12th fret 322-3mm to brige is 322-3mm and 330m along first and sixth string. These figs are approxmade using poor measuring device and dodgy eyesight. So is that A 644-646mm 25 1/4 approx scale lenth?
So i have found using search and AI that an IG786 guitar version is mentioned online. Made in the early 80s.(dont know if ican post links to these so wont). I cannot find any official reference, image, online sale, forum post, nothing.
Yet to my eye that is the IG786 bass in guitar form. Is that a thing?
Again any wisdom or knowledge would be appreciated.
It is the guitar version of the IG786. They were both made by the Moridaira factory around 1980, and sold under their own Morris brand, and also badged as Lotus and Hohner (and probably others). Hohner UK called them the IG650 and IB780 as you can see below, but there’s also a Bell UK distributor catalogue from the same year that calls them the IG686 and IG786. It’s the Bell model numbers that are commonly used. The bass version pops up occasionally but I can’t remember seeing one of the guitars before so you have a rare bird.
Thank you philw.
