Hello,
I have an acoustic HG340 SN 7000805. Can you tell me what year it was manufactured?
The HG340 was built in Japan between 1978 and 1985. Hohner Service didn’t have more detailed info,
Cheers
Steve
I need further information about this serial Nummer ingraved in the backplate “S96000112 MADE IN KOREA” . The guitar is named “Hohner HS Special”.
Thanks!
According to the serial number, your guitar was built in 1996. Here the specs:
3 single coil; vol/tone/tone; 5-way switch; bolt-on maple neck with maple fingerboard; 22 nickel silver frets; die-cast chrome machine heads; chrome hardware; colours: transparent black, transparent wine red
Please tell me any details you can about serial number HW-300G-TB
Thank you!
This looks like a model number, not a serial number. Check if you can find the right number.

Hi, I have a contessa HG-14 serial number 91784. I’m trying to find any information on it, so far I’ve gathered that it was made in Japan from 1978-85. I would love to find specs on it if anybody knows where to look. thanks!
I have a Hohner HG-920 serial # 93552 how do i find out year it was made
Are you sure that’s the serial no.? They usually have more digits. Is there any other number anywhere?
Hi Steve,
There are a lot of 5 digit Japanese acoustics including all the 900 series. I’ve given more detail on the other thread, but it’s probably 1979.
I expect you’re right Phil, you usually are. I’m still awaiting a reply from Hohner Service and will post when I receive it.
Hi Steve!
I am the proud owner of a Hohner G3t in perfect condition and of course I am curious about the date and country of manufacture! Serial number looks like 9041208. Thanks for checking into this!

Hohner Service confirms your guitar was built in 1979. They don’t have any other specs available as this model was exclusively distributed in the UK.
Cheers
Steve
Hi John,
I’ll check it out & let you know

Hello
I have a ES35 hollow-body, and would like to know when it was made. The serial number is 8090015. Nice guitar, but my understanding is that some years were much better than others!
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
could it be that you’ve transposed the letters? The SE 35 guitar with this serial number was built in 1990 in Korea. The quality of all handmade musical instruments is known to vary, but I’ve not heard of drastic variations among Hohner guitars between particular years. The Korean-made Hohner guitars that I’ve come across were all good value and well made.
Cheers
Steve
Hi Steve,
Yes, I had the model number letters transposed. I had guessed the guitar was build around 1995, based on my foggy memory of when I had purchased it new from Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, CO. Good to have a more accurate date. Thanks for your quick reply, and Merry Christmas!
