I heard a rumor that there’s a new model Marine Band Deluxe, but don’t see it in stores. What’s up?

So I asked you. I’ve since asked Rockin’ Rob. He confirms it involves the screws —torx vs. screwdriver style — and a new case.

That’s an upgrade which applies to all Hohner diatonics, not a new model. Personally I like the zipper cases, but as I don’t keep my harps in the original packaging the new box doesn’t make much difference to me. I was initially sceptical regarding the torx screws, but have come to like them, there’s no risk of stripping as with cross head screws.
