and Phil, do you think there’s a quality difference between korean and indonesian made g3t?
Ciro Lenti was the person who told me it was made in 1991, but he’s worked off his feet and that could be a typo. The fact that the serial no. begins with CO11 certainly suggests it was built in 2011.
Hi Steve, Just picked up a lovely Hohner Professional B Bass from freecycle would you believe it or not. Would love to find out some more info about it if you are able to gather any together.
The serial number is C216396
Many thanks in advance!
It’s a weird angle but it looks like a JB rather than a B Bass. Made in 1992 in Korea or Indonesia. I think you only find these in Europe, for some reason only the fretless version seems to have been sold in the US. That lovely sea foam green is actually one of the most common colours.
I’m afraid the Service Dept. doesn’t have any info on this, other than that as Phil says, it was built in 1992 in Korea.
Steve
Hello, I was wondering if I could find uo the date/country of origin for my g3t, serial number 8784828, and my b2a, serial number 8618530. Many thanks.
I’ll see what the Service Dept. has to say & let you know
Steve
Thanks Steve.I appreciate it!
Any news on those serial numbers, Steve?
Oh sorry, I must have forgotten to post their reply:
According to the Service Dept., both guitars were built in Korea in 1988. However, often the first 2 digits of the serial number indicate the year, so it could be that the G3T was built in 1987 and the B2A in 1986. They will definitely have been built in Korea though, as far as I know all the Hohner electric guitars from that period were.
Thanks very much for your help! All best
I have a HOHNER TE90 Prinz Professional, Serial Number C207565. Can you provide and information on this guitar please?
I’ve asked Hohner Service and will let you know what they say,
cheers
Steve
The HOHNER Professional “The Prinz” was first introduced in 1985 and remained in the catalogue until 1994. At first they were built in Korea and later in Indonesia. The original form of the headstock led to legal problems with Fender, and it was changed. The resulting model was renamed TE Prinz. Your one was built in 1992 in Indonesia, here the specs:
Body: Californian solid maple with flamed maple top and back
Bolt on one-piece Canadian rock maple neck
21 nickel silver frets
Colour: natural
2 HP single coil GS-1
3-way switch
Vol/tone
Chrome hardware
Graphite nut
Standard ST-bridge
Deluxe machine heads
USA-Wings strings
Cheers
Steve
