Hi Jack,
I’ll check with Hohner Service and get back to you
Steve
Hi Jack,
they don’t have a list of serial numbers. Hohner Service says this could be a Hohner Arbor guitar, which were distributed by Hohner UK and were built in the 1980s in S. Korea. Hope that helps,
Steve
My understanding is taht the first wo numbers of the serial are the year it was “born”.
hello i have hohner g3t with serial number CO04l10194 i want to know the production year and place thank you very much
This is often the case, but not always I’m afraid…
I’ll check it out & get back to you
Your Hohner GT3 guitar was built in Indonesia in 2004
Steve
It’s an HG-430LP made in Japan in the late 1970s or very early 80s. The serial number is not helpful for dating in the case of this guitar. There are some starting 85 (like yours) or 86 but they definitely weren’t still being made in 1985 and 1986 so that can’t be the year of manufacture.
what is the best way to figure out what model you have from the serial number? Is this the place, is there a website, do you need to call customer service?
I’m looking at an electric / acoustic bass. Serial number 00070878. I’d like to figure out if it is a Hohner HAB-40N. How do I confirm? Thank you very much.
I’ve asked Hohner Service for any available info and will get back to you

So this guitar was built in 1991, either in Korea or Indonesia (Hohner shifted production from Korea to Indonesia around this time). Here the specs, hope that helps!

Steve, i just got a message from hohner that says"Based on the serial number, the HOHNER G3T guitar dates back to 2011 and was manufactured in Indonesia." it’s strange, the year doesn’t match…
I’d expect a 1991 guitar to have the serial number format C1xxxxx. I don’t know much about later serial numbers but certainly the responses I’ve seen from Hohner service suggest that a CO11xxxxxx number is 2011.
From whom at Hohner? But what Phil says about the serial number seems plausible.
thanks Phil for the collaboration
