Hi, I recently bought a Telecaster Professional TE Custom, serial number 8713310: Does anybody knows for sure about the year of building (I suppose 87)? Does anybody knows and can tell which wood has been used? I appreciate every information about this items and general infromation very much. Kind regards, Wolfgang Kocks
I was only able to find it through the usual google search.

Thank you for answer.
Are you, by chance, able to upload a couple of pictures of your newfound jewel?
Best regards
Jan.
Hi Jan it has been my pleasure!
I will upload the pictures tomorrow evening.
Kind regards
Wolfgang
Hello Jan, and the Hohner Tele owners,
here some pictures of this black cutie, serial number 8713310. Hohner customer service said it’s build in 1988. Not all original. Tuners, nut and jack has been changed. Common dings and dongs, a little delamination of the neck laquer but in general in good condition and a brilliant sounding! Hats off Hohner…or better said Cort!!! Btw: I tried to figure out the wood of the body = California maple. There are unfortunately 4 different California maples. I suppose and being sure it’s better known than Bigleaf maple (Acer macrophyllum). Compatible by hardness and weight to mahagony. This would explain the high weight of the guitar. Best regards, Wolfgang…and as it’s said “new members can only upload one file”…so the rest will follow without comment
Great pictures. Looks real good. Glad you could share it. Always interesting to see the guitar people ask about.
36 years and still looks great.
I have no idea on maple but you got me googling a bit about it.
Thank you for your explanation about your guitar.
Happy playing.
Cheers Jan.
