Hohner stopped marketing guitars some years ago, which means there is no longer a product manager (or anyone else, for that matter) who is familiar enough with the various models to be able to provide further information. Sorry about that,
cheers

Hi,
I just picked up an MC-05 and interested to find out how old and where it might have been manufactured.
Itâs not in great condition but still sounds better than it looks.
Unfortunately there is no serial number, but Iâm wondering if the difference in the inner sticker (some have a extra line about inspection), and the split fret around the sound hole, are any indication?
Thanks.
I was also surprised it had an arched/curved back, and has a different shaped head to a lot of them.
Any info much appreciated
The only info I can find says the MC-05 model was built in 1992, when it sold for the princely sum of DM150. So I assume it was a low price entry level instrument,
cheers

Thanks for the reply.
I guess the variations (headstock shapes, rosette patterns, labels, and tuners) donât really make much difference on a such low value guitar, produced over so many years, in different places.
I had fun playing âspot the differenceâ on google images and eBay for a few hours regardless, and wonât too be worried to take this one camping.
Sounds like a good idea, itâs great to have a playable guitar where you donât have to worry about it getting damaged when camping. Hope you enjoy!
